Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-27

These terms govern your use of Bedcoder β€” the open-source remote-control tool for AI coding agents (the "Service"), including the public relay at relay.bedcoder.org, the desktop daemon, the web client, and the mobile apps. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Bedcoder is a thin daemon and a mobile app that relay end-to-end encrypted messages between your phone and your desktop so you can drive an AI coding agent remotely. It is not, and does not bundle, any underlying AI provider (for example, Anthropic Claude).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using it you confirm that you have the right to use the desktop machine, source code, and AI services that you connect through it.

3. Open source and license

Bedcoder is released under the MIT License. You may self-host the relay and modify the code under that license. These Terms apply only to your use of the public-facing services we operate (such as relay.bedcoder.org and web.bedcoder.org).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to commit illegal acts, to access systems you don't have permission to access, or to violate third-party rights.
  • Disrupt the Service β€” for example, abuse, spam, denial of service, or attempts to circumvent the encryption or pairing protocol.
  • Use the Service to process content that violates applicable laws.
  • Use the Service to generate or distribute malware, spyware, or other harmful software.

We may terminate sessions or block IP addresses that violate this section.

5. Your code and your content

You retain all rights to the source code, prompts, files, and terminal output that flow through the Service. Because traffic is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot access this content; responsibility for it is yours.

6. AI provider terms

Your use of an AI coding agent (such as Anthropic Claude) is subject to that provider's own terms and pricing. Bedcoder is a transport layer and does not assume responsibility for the agent's output or any costs you incur with the AI provider.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the relay will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure beyond the protocol guarantees described in the documentation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bedcoder and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, code, profits, or business arising from your use of the Service. The total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed USD $0 β€” the Service is provided free of charge.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bedcoder and its contributors against any claim arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date and noted in the GitHub release notes. Continued use of the Service after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your session in the app or uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access to the public relay if you violate these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the project maintainers' jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
